Registrar at Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State

The Governing Council of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun hereby announces that the positions of the Registrar and the University Librarian will be vacant by 16th December, 2015 and 31st January, 2016 respectively. It therefore wishes to commence the process of filling the impending vacancies.

Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified candidates for the vacant post of Registrar of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State, Nigeria.

The University

Tai Solarin University of Education, the first University of Education in Nigeria, was established as a specialized University of Education in the year 2005 to produce graduates who are adequately equipped in both course contents and pedagogy to meet the various challenges of contemporary university education as well as the emerging needs for vocational skills and entrepreneurship knowledge. The University lays premium on the deployment of Information Communication Technology (ICT) to academic and administrative activities. It has very strong local and international linkages with other educational institutions in the areas of teaching, learning and research activities. Her vision is to be the preferred university of the 21st Century.

Position: Registrar

The Position

The Registrar is a Principal Officer responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administrative activities of the University. The Registrar carries a huge responsibility in providing leadership for team-work and joint efforts in the achievement of the goals of the University. He/she shall be the Secretary to Council, Senate, Convocation, Congregation and other statutory bodies as defined by the University Law.

The Candidate

The candidate shall be a person of high integrity and strong moral character with excellent interpersonal relations. He/she must be a team player with ability to delegate and instill confidence in others and command the loyalty and respect of people. He/she must demonstrate a deep knowledge of the complexity and challenges of managing a modem university system and must be able to effectively utilize its human and material resources to provide a world class administrative support. He/she must enjoy good health and possess demonstrable computer literacy.


  • A good honours Degree (not below Second Class Honours) and a Masters Degree from a recognised University. Possession of a higher degree and membership of recognized professional bodies will be an added advantage.


  • The candidate must normally not be currently below the rank of Deputy Registrar in a University and must have at least 15 years post qualification cognate experience 10 years of which must have been in university administration. Applicant must have been a Deputy Registrar in a university for a minimum of 5 years.

Salary: CONTISS15

Conditions of Service

The successful candidate shall hold office for a tenure of five (5) years with a further extension for 1 year if deemed necessary. Other terms and conditions are as applicable to any public-owned University in Nigeria and as may be determined by appropriate University Laws and the Governing Council.

(b)     Write and submit along with the application 25 copies of a vision and mission statement of not more than 1,000 words for the Registry (if applying for the position of Registrar) or the Library (if applying for the position of University Librarian).
