Vacancies: Senior Lecturer, Lecturer II, Lecturer I, Professor (FACULTY OF SOCIAL AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCES)

Benson Idahosa University is a Private University in Nigeria licensed by the Federal Government in February 2002. Applications from suitably qualified candidates with track records of achievement are invited for the following Teaching Positions.

FACULTY OF SOCIAL AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCES: 

Department of Political Science and Public Administration:

Position: Senior Lecturer

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D and at least five years of teaching, research and or professional experience in a University, or a comparable professional institution is required. Ability to initiate and develop research projects, and some scholarly publications, experience in directing academic group discussions and in interdisciplinary group activities, are also essential.

Department of Political Science and Public Administration

Position: Lecturer II

Qualification:

  • A Ph.D is required for appointment to the post of Lecturer II or Research Fellow II. Scholarly publications will enhance the prospects of a candidate.

 Department of Sociology/Anthropology:

Lecturer I

Qualification:

  • A Ph.D and three years experience in teaching or research in a University or a comparable professional institution is required for appointment to the post of Lecturer I or Research Fellow I. Scholarly publications will enhance the prospects of a candidate.

 Department of Mass Communication:

Position: Professor

Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D and at least ten years of teaching, research or professional experience in a University, or comparable professional institution. Ability to initiate, develop and supervise research projects and some administrative experience are also required. Scholarly publications in reputable journals and books issued by reputable publishers, as well as some experience in working with interdisciplinary groups will be an added advantage.

Ability to initiate and develop research projects, and some scholarly publications, experience in directing academic group discussions and in interdisciplinary group activities, are also essential.

Department of Business Administration:

Position: Senior Lecturers

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D and at least five years of teaching, research and or professional experience in a University, or a comparable professional institution is required. Ability to initiate and develop research projects, and some scholarly publications, experience in directing academic group discussions and in interdisciplinary group activities, are also essential.

Department of Business Administration

Lecturer I

Qualification:

  • A Ph.D and three years experience in teaching or research in a University or a comparable professional institution is required for appointment to the post of Lecturer I or Research Fellow I. Scholarly publications will enhance the prospects of a candidate.

 Department of Accounting:

Professor

Qualifications:

A Ph.D and at least ten years of teaching, research or professional experience in a University, or comparable professional institution. Ability to initiate, develop and supervise research projects and some administrative experience are also required. Scholarly publications in reputable journals and books issued by reputable publishers, as well as some experience in working with interdisciplinary groups will be an added advantage.

Department of Accounting

Position: Senior Lecturers

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D and at least five years of teaching, research and or professional experience in a University, or a comparable professional institution is required. Ability to initiate and develop research projects, and some scholarly publications, experience in directing academic group discussions and in interdisciplinary group activities, are also essential.

Conditions of Service:

Similar to conditions of service in Nigerian Universities. However, a special incentive is attached to this position for enhanced performance to achieve the purpose of the appointment.

Method of Application

(1)     Interested candidates who meet the conditions stated above should submit 15 copies of their applications and comprehensive current curriculum vitae duly signed and dated.

  • Present employment, indicating present status and salary
  • Names and addresses of three referees (one of which must be the Pastor of your Church.

(3)     Candidates must request their referees to forward references on them in a sealed envelope marked “Referee Report” with the name of the candidate underneath directly to the Registrar. Such referees should be able to attest to the candidate’s claim to higher academic and managerial capabilities as well as the candidate’s moral uprightness. Only the applications of short-listed candidates will be acknowledged.
