Coordinator, Funding at WaterAid Nigeria

Water Aid

Around 45,000 children under the age of five in Nigeria die every year from diarrhoeal diseases caused by the nation’s poor levels of access to water, sanitation and hygiene. Around 31% of the Nigerian population do not have access to safe water- that’s nearly 58 million people; while 71% of Nigeria’s population lacks access to basic sanitation, that’s over 130 million people without a toilet! This is a crisis that calls for urgent action if we are to ensure universal access -access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene services for everyone everywhere in Nigeria by 2030.

WaterAid Nigeria has recently agreed a 5 year strategy and is restructuring for more effectiveness in responding to the needs in the country context.
