Position: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) – Courier Services

This Courier and Delivery Services business is currently the 4th largest player in the Courier and express delivery market in Nigeria. With a bouquet of well-tailored solutions and a team of dedicated and experienced professionals, the Company is committed to partnering with clients to achieving their objectives through their vast experience and capabilities. It has 47 offices across Nigeria and over 600 employees.

Although a member of a diversified group, the Company’s operations are entirely independent. Recent expansion strategies into the African regional Market has thrown open some strategic positions that need to be filled.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for the management of the company’s operations and will be expected to demonstrate excellent administrative, strategic, and operational and business management skills.

The CEO will work collaboratively with the Board in leading the transformation of the company, to ensure it is capable of delivering on its long term vision. Specifically, s/he will ensure that our Client’s fiscal, operations, sales, marketing, human resource, technology, and corporate strategies are effectively implemented across all segments of the company.

The jobholder shall propose, implement/ administer the fiscal policies and procedures; provide direction in the preparation and execution of the company’s annual budget. S/He shall provide support to the Board and shall perform such other functions as the Board may direct towards the development and achievement of the Group’s strategic goals and objectives

Qualifications and Experience

  • First degree or its equivalent in any discipline.
  • An MBA or MSc in any discipline is an added advantage
  • Relevant professional qualifications / affiliations.
  • Minimum of 15 years post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in market facing Sales strategies and execution.
  • Industry experience is not a must-have.
  • Experience leading operations within a Corporate/Investment bank or other financial institution is preferable.
  • Good understanding of the impact of micro and macro-economic indices on the business and the strategic options to be pursued.
  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
  • Good understanding of financial statements and strong financial analysis skills
  • Ability to plan strategically and successfully lead growth within an ‘ organization.
  • Track record of business, financial and organization performance. Strong business acumen, with ability to identify and convert opportunities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent business presentation and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • High energy, drive and passion.

Supply Chain Management: Company has a strong presence in warehousing, 3PL, Warehouse/ Inventory Management, inventory financing, vendor-managed inventory, Warehouse facility Management.

Retail Distribution: Currently a leading retail distribution channel for large FMCG companies in Nigeria, it’s also a leading initiator of Direct to Retail (DTR) strategies for carefully selected partners.

The Company has also undertaken sizeable bespoke logistics solution endeavors with notable international corporate brands. Responsibilities

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the lead executive reporting to the Board, will be charged with the responsibility of driving the articulation of all goals and objectives set by the Board of Directors for the business.

The COO will also be responsible for the continuous growth and development of the business; planning, organizing, coordinating, directing and controlling the functions of the Company. The individual must be able to deliver a revenue transformation agenda by developing and meeting specific financial targets developed through the budget implementation process.

The COO will be a dynamic and experienced professional with a strong track record of business development and operational activities within a leadership position in the Supply Cham Management Industry. The individual-will have broad business knowledge and ability to develop and implement strategies in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders, and also balance wider consequences.

Qualifications and Experience
