Since 2003, the Global Fund has invested more than 1.4 billion dollars in the fight against AIDS, TB and Malaria in Nigeria.

FHI360 is collaborating with AHNI on Global Fund project management and we are currently seeking qualified candidates for the positions below:

Position Title: Technical Director

Technical Director will under the guidance of the Project Director, provide technical leadership, develop technical strategies and oversee the technical implementation across all the thematic areas of the Global Fund PR-HIV Project. S/He will provide technical expertise and leadership for the design and implementation of the technical program areas of HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support, pediatric care and treatment, PMTCT, CT, TB/HIV, OVC and support programs.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

MB.BS/MD/PHD or similar degree with 5 years relevant experience with international development programs which includes 3 years of relevant supervisory experience.

or MS/MA in social science, public health or related field, MPH preferred, and a minimum of 7 years relevant experience with international development programs which includes 3 years relevant supervisory experience.

Or BS/BA in social science, public health or related field, with a minimum of 9 years relevant experience with international development programs which includes 3 years of relevant supervisory experience.

Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems, Global Fund, international donor organizations. NGOs and CBOs is required.

Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is required.

Senior Technical Officer, PCR Lab will provide technical expertise and assistance in implementing high quality laboratory services within the HIV care and treatment project in Nigeria, including laboratory capacity development at project health facility sites, develops and helps implement quality control and quality assurance systems in collaboration with existing personnel and systems for PCR laboratory in the focal facilities and ensures related documentation, training and monitoring.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

BSc in Laboratory sciences or related field with 7-9 years post national youth service experience and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in provision of laboratory support for HIV/AIDS.

Or Master’s degree in Laboratory sciences or related field with 5-7 years post national youth service experience and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in provision of laboratory support for PCR Laboratories.

Excellent working knowledge of PCR equipment and techniques for the HIV PCR for qualitative Early Infant Diagnosis and viral load measurement.

At least two years’ work experience in a management or quality role within a clinical laboratory for qualitative HIV testing for Early Infant Diagnosis and viral load measurement including experience with laboratory quality control and quality assurance systems and implementation.

Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health system and NGOs and CBOs highly desirable.

Certification of license to practice as a medical laboratory scientist in Nigeria is required.
