Senior Manager Control & Compliance in an Oil and Gas Company

Our client in the Oil & Gas Services is offering a challenging and rewarding career to exceptional professionals

As part of a continuous focus on performance excellence and in support of business expansion, an integrated energy, engineering, procurement and Construction Company has identified the need to deepen its internal managerial and specialist capacity across a number of functions. The ideal candidates must have held equivalent positions in national and international companies preferably within the Oil and Gas services industry. Candidates should be ready to re-locate if necessary

Position:       Senior Manager Control & Compliance

Key responsibilities

(i)    Ensure that the day to day control and compliance activities are carried out and implemented

(ii)    Establish company-wide control and compliance standards for the organization

(iii)   Develop and implement internal control systems and processes for all the functional roles in the organization

(iv)   Develop, update and guide the implementation of all SOPs across the organization

(v)    Ensure that all the regulatory and compliance processes are adhered to by all the functional roles in the company

(vi)   Drive the Risk Management process of the company

(vii)  Ensure that all the financial control and compliance are followed

(vii)  Perform and control the full internal control cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations

(viii)  Determine internal control and compliance scope and develop annual plans

(ix)   Obtain, analyze and evaluate accounting documentation, previous reports, data, etc

(x)    Develop the company’s annual plans, budgets, forecasts and financial performance metrics to guide business operations and strategy execution

(xi)   Design and guide the implementation of a sound financial control framework and compliance with tax and other statutory provisions

(xii)  Coordinate the proper capturing of financial transactions and consolidation of the company’s accounts from all business units and functions

Job requirements

(i)   First Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related discipline

(ii)  A post graduate degree will be an added advantage

(iii) Relevant professional qualification e.g. Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) is essential

(iv) A minimum of 10 years relevant experience with at least 5 years at management level

Aged   35 years – 50 years

Skills & Competency

(i)  Knowledge of Internal Control and Compliance in Oil & Gas services, Professional Services firm, Finance Management firms and other reputable organizations

(ii)  Knowledge of Accounting packages

(iii)  Attention to details, proactive and Analytical

(iv)  Effective oral and written Communication skills

(v)   Leadership skills

(vi)  Interpersonal Relationship Skills
