A leading Insurance Company with head office in Lagos and a well-spread branch network across Nigeria, seeks a result oriented top-drawer executive to join its Management team in the capacity of Investment Officer. As a “going concern”, the company is desirous of meeting the strategic objectives and changing demands of the current market landscape while also maintaining its leadership role in the Industry
Position: INVESTMENT OFFICER
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining the investment process and above all perform the critical function of asset management. He/she will develop the asset allocation levels aimed at creating balanced investment portfolios; conduct traditional investment research as well as technical analysis to help the company make trading decisions. He/she will be responsible and accountable to the ED, Finance & Administration through the Team Lead, Finance & Admin.
SPECIFICALLY, THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
(i) Review all the company’s investment portfolio.
(ii) Design the company’s investment portfolio
(iii) Ensure the maintenance of a well-diversified portfolio
(iv) Update and maintains investment schedules and fixed assets register
(v) Tracks and analyses quoted investments daily
(vi) Monitor money market and trends in the stock market through corporate interaction, news media and electronic information medium
(vii) Keep close watch on changing economic trends in the market and accordingly suggest changes in investment strategies
(viii) Analyse and advise on new investments
(ix) Negotiate most favourable interest rates and any other associated business with placement banks and other financial institutions.
(x) Carry out investment reconciliation on portfolios
(xi) Conduct due diligence on company’s investments
(xii) Perform any other activities as assigned by the Executive Director, Finance and Administration
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
(i) Minimum Education: BSC/HND in Finance related field
(ii) ACS; ACCA; ACA;CFA and/or MBA qualification will be an added advantage
(iii) Minimum experience of 5years post graduation of which 2 years must be in similar role.
(iv) Expertise in analysis and interpretation of financial information
(v) Knowledge of portfolio management, stock market, real estate, foreign exchange and money market operations
