ACADEMIC AND NON-TEACHING STAFF VACANCIES

Samuel Adegboyega University, Ogwa, Edo State is a private faith-based University, founded by The Apostolic Church Nigeria (TACN), Territory. The University is named after Pastor Samuel Adegboyega, who was the first LAWNA Territorial Chairman and one of the founding fathers of TACN. The institution was licensed by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the National Universities Commission (NUC) on 7th March, 2011. The University commenced its academic activities in 2011 and has graduated three (3) sets of graduates in 2016/2017 academic session.

The University invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the under-listed Academic and Administrative/Professional positions in the following disciplines:

1.     ACADEMIC POSITIONS

Accounting, Business Administration, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Mass Communication, Public Administration and Library

POSITIONS

(i)      Professor

(ii)    Associate Professor

(iii)   Senior Lecturer

(iv)   Lecturer I

(v)    Lecturer II

(vi)   Liberian I

(vii)  Liberian II

REQUIREMENTS

(i)  Professor

  1. Possession of Ph.D. Degree from a recognized University.
  2. Extensive and outstanding teaching and administrative experiences for at least ten (10) years.
  3. Evidence of leadership in research and successful supervision of post-graduate students.
  4. Outstanding research and scholarly publications and or patent invention and design in recognized and reputable international journals. 80% of such publications should have appeared in print and there must be an identifiable contribution to knowledge in the field of specialization.

(ii)  Associate Professor/Reader

As for Professor with a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience

(iii) Senior Lecturer

  1. Possession of Ph.D. Degree from a recognized University.
  2. Previous adequate University teaching and research experience of at least five (5) years.
  3. Substantial and quality research publication and or patent/invention and or design in reputable national and international journals. 75% of such publications should have appeared in print.

(iv)  Lecturer I

  1. Possession of Ph.D. Degree from a recognized University.
  2. Evidence of a minimum of three years post Ph.D. teaching and research experience.
  3. Evidence of scholarly publications and or patent/invention/designs in reputable journals.

(v)  Lecturer II

  1. Ph.D. from a reputable University.
  2. Evidence of interest in research, possibly with some post­doctoral research experience.

(vi)  Librarian I

Applicants must have MLS or MIS from a reputable University. Applicants must be familiar with the use of academic databases and various open source materials used in University Libraries. Possession of a PhD will be an added advantage while minimum of six (6) years- experience in an academic library is required.

(vii)     Librarian II

Applicants must possess MLS or MIS. Applicants must be familiar with the use of academic databases and various open source materials used in University Libraries with 3 years­ experience in a University Library.

2.     NON-TEACHING STAFF

(i)     Administrative Officer I (Legal Unit)

(ii)    Principal/Senior Internal Auditor

REQUIREMENTS

(i)   Administrative Officer I (Legal Unit)

Candidates should have a first degree in Law from a recognized Institution with a minimum of 2 Class Lower Division and BL plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption. SSCE/NECO/WASC/GCE O/L credits in 5 subjects including English and Mathematics is compulsory. In addition, the candidate must have 6 years practical experience in active legal practice such as in legal drafting, litigation/advocacy, Trusts, Estate and Property Law.

(ii)  Principal Internal Auditor

  1. A good first degree in Accounting or related discipline with at least 8 years post-qualification experience.
  2. The candidate must hold a professionally recognized Auditing/Accounting qualification – ICAN, AMA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, ANAN, with at least 4 years post-qualification experience.
  3. Master’s degree will be an added advantage.

(iii)  Senior Internal Auditor

  1. A good first degree in Accounting or related discipline with at least 6 years post-qualification experience.
  2. The candidate must hold a professionally recognized Auditing/Accounting qualification – ICAN, AMA, ACA, ACCA, CPA, ANAN, with at least 3 years post-qualification experience.
  3. Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
