Department of Microbiology

Positions

Lecturer I/II – CONUASS 04/03

Assistant Lecturer CONUASS 02

Areas of Specialization

Environmental Microbiology/ Mycology/Immunology

Candidates apply for the position of Lecturer I and Lecturer II must possess Bachelors Degree in Microbiology with not less than Second Class Lower Division, Master of Science in Microbiology (with Thesis). Ph.D in Microbiology (Environmental Microbiology/Mycology/

Immunology Options) and Publications in reputable journals.

Candidates apply for the position of Assistant Lecturer must possess Bachelor Degree in Microbiology with not less than Second Class Lower Division or M.Sc. (Microbiology) with Second Class Lower Division with relevant industrial experience or currently at advanced stage of Postgraduate program in research at PhD level.

Department of Geology

Positions:

Lecturer I/II-CONUASS 04/03

Assistant Lecturer – CONUASS 02

Areas of Specialization

Geochemistry, Petrology, Structural Geology, GIS and Remote Sensing Electrical/Electromagnetics, Palaeontology/Palynology, Hydrogeology

Candidates applying for the position of Lecturer I (Mineral Exploration Option) should possess a good First degree and a Ph.D. degree in Geology from a recognized University with not less than three (3) years of teaching and research experience since becoming a Lecturer 11 in a University or comparable institution of higher learning. Candidate must also have the ability to teach courses at the undergraduate level with evidence of practical skills and competence together with scholarly publications in reputable journals with at least four peer reviewed published articles. It is also required that the candidate would have in addition, the ability to supervise post-graduate students in areas of expertise.

Candidates applying for the position of Lecturer II should possess a good First degree and a Ph.D. degree in Geology from a recognized University with not less than three (3) years of assisting in teaching and research experience since becoming an Assistant Lecturer. Evidence of scholarly publications will be an advantage.

Candidates applying for the position of Assistant Lecturer (Applied Geophysics Option) should possess a B.Sc. (First Class or Second Class Upper) Degree and M.Sc. Degree in applied Geophysics from a recognized University and must have registered for a Ph.D Degree programme in Applied Geophysics with research interest in the area of Electrical/Electromagnetics field. Evidence of scholarly publications in learned journals will be an advantage.

Candidates applying for the position of Assistant Lecturer (Sedimentary/Petroleum Geology Option) should have a B.Sc. (First Class or Second Class) Degree and Masters Degree in Geology from recognized University and must have registered for a Ph.D programme in the respective field. Evidence of scholarly publications in learned journals will be an advantage.

Candidates applying for the position of Assistant Lecturer (Engineering Geology/Hydrogeology option) should have a B.Sc. (First Class or Second Class) Degree and a Masters Degree in Geology from recognized University and must have registered for a Ph.D programme in the Hydrogeology field.

Department of Psychology

Positions:

Areas of Specialization

Physiological/Clinical Psychology Development Psychology, Environmental Psychology

Assistant must possess a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Psychology with a good Second Class (Upper Division) with evidence of registration for a Master Degree (specializing in Clinical/Health/Physiological Psychology) from a recognized reputable University.

Candidates applying for the position of Assistant Lecturer must possess a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Psychology with a good Second Class (Upper Division) and M.Sc. Degree (PhD grade-60+ and above) in either Developmental or Environmental Psychology (with a defended thesis     and evidence of registration for PhD) from a recognized reputable University.

COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES

FACULTY OF CLINICAL SCIENCES

Department of Medicine

Positions:

Lecturer I – CONUASS 04

Areas of Specialization

Nephrology

Candidates must have the current practicing license of the Medical and Dental council of Nigeria (MDCN) must have completed the Residency Training in Internal Medicine (Physic) and must have obtained the award of fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or its equivalent. Evidence of publications in reputable journals would be an added advantage and possession of additional academic qualifications would also be an added advantage.

SENIOR NON-TEACHING POSITION

Department of Civil Engineering

Technologist II – CONTISS 07 (N1,084,016-N1,600,307)

Candidate applying for the post of Technologist II must have Higher Certificate in Engineering Technology (TTS) and must have registered with Nigeria association of Engineering Craftsmen (NAEC) with experience in Electro-Mechanical.

Department of Geology.

Positions:

Technologist I – CONTISS 08 (N1,258,653 – N1,866,314)

Technologist II- CONTISS 07 (N 1,084,016 – N 1,600,307

Candidate applying for the post of Technologist 1 should possess HND or its equivalent in Science Laboratory Technology (Geology Option) plus MN1ST with three (3) years post qualification experience or B.Sc/B.Tech in Science Laboratory Technology (Geology Option) plus MNIST with three (3) years post qualification experience. The Candidate must possess good knowledge of wet Geochemistry, application and working principles of AAS, XRF, XRD etc

Candidate applying for the post of Technologist II should possess HND or its equivalent in Science Laboratory Technology (Geology Option) plus ANIST or B. Sc/B.Tech in Science Laboratory Technology (Geology Option) plus ANIST. The candidate must possess good know ledge of thin section preparation, rock samples milling, and also ability to operate thin section machines.
