PPP & Infrastructure in a Boutique Law Firm

A Boutique Law Firm that specialises along three service lines- PPP & Infrastructure; IP services and corporate services requires two exceptionally Talented Lawyers to steer the following departments:

Successful candidates are to be primarily based in ABUJA and must exhibit capability to lead the departments and harvest opportunities into transactions.

Position: PPP & Infrastructure

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Steer transaction and commercial advisory work on all aspects relating to PPP & Infrastructure especially the research, opinions and negotiations that arise with focus on the electric power sector;

Have a detailed knowledge of the applicable laws governing PPP and Infrastructure for utilities especially electric power.

Ability to draft and/or review standard Project Documents to ensure bankability. balanced risk allocation and alignment with the Agreements.

Ability to lead negotiations pertaining to the Agreements especially technical and commercial aspects of agreements in the electric power sector

Develop and manage the roll out of an open, competitive bidding process while providing guidance on the preparation of drafts of the relevant Expression of Interest (Eol) and Request for Proposal (RfP) documentation packages, design evaluation criteria and metric in close cooperation with stakeholders;

Steer the performance of legal and reputational Due Diligence verification for validity on all documents submitted in relation to the Project Documents.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:

Law degree with minimum of 10 years post call experience of which at least 5 consecutive years has been in front end transactions representing clients and directly involved in negotiations, research, issuing opinions and turn-around of agreements

Master’s degree with focus on Project finance and Electric power in particular will be an added advantage.

Knowledge of project Finance within the PPP & Infrastructure space with a focus on the power industry.

Commercial and Business Development skills.

Strong interpersonal, communication skills

Project Planning and Management understanding

Analytical problem solving and decision making skills.

Networking and Stakeholder Relationship Management skills.

Displays a quality of work that reflects high professional standards, and projects a professional and positive image at all times.
