Propcom Mai-karfi is a six-year project which works to improve the livelihoods of Nigeria’s rural poor through targeted market initiatives. Propcom Mai-karfi aims to increase the incomes of 650,000 poor Nigerians by enhancing employment opportunities and improving productivity in selected agricultural and rural markets in northern Nigeria. The first phase of Propcom Mai-karfi runs through March 2018 and will subsequently move into a three-year extension phase with particular focus on the North East and the DFID partner states. Propcom Mai-karfi is managed by Palladium for the UK Department for International Development.

The programme seeks high-performing, results-oriented professionals who have a particular interest in market systems development and agriculture, and experience working in Northern Nigeria, particularly the North East, to fill the following positions and join its dynamic team:

Position: State Embedded Officers

The State Embedded Officers support the delivery of a number of programme interventions within a given state. This will involve field support in implementation, communication and information gathering, and collating data / evidence when required for monitoring and reporting on all assigned interventions. S/he will develop and maintain close relationships with programme partners and be based in one of the following 9 states: Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Gombe, Taraba, Bauchi, Kaduna, Kano or Jigawa

Position: North East Recovery and WEE Coordinator

The NE Recovery and WEE Coordinator will provide strategic direction and management to the technical work of the programme with primary focus on the Tier 1 states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa through liaison with Senior Market Managers, but with significant input to work in Tier 2 and DFID partner states. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing overall strategic direction in the integration of gender and women’s economic empowerment across the programme. As a key member of the senior management team, s/he is expected to contribute to overall programme management, direction and delivery of agreed milestones.

Position: Knowledge Manager

The Knowledge Manager will lead the knowledge management activities of the programme, ensuring that progress and achievements are documented (to agreed formats where applicable), stored in an accessible manner and disseminated to relevant internal and external audiences (both at national and international levels) in an appropriate and timely manner, in conjunction with the results measurement and communications teams.
