Northeast Nigeria is currently facing a growing humanitarian crisis with a vast number of Internally Displaced Persons in need of emergency assistance. These IDPs are living among host communities, lacking access to livelihoods and resources, ultimately leading to unprecedented levels of malnutrition and food insecurity. FHI 360 has been working in Nigeria for over 30 years and is now expanding activities in Borno state to respond to the IDP crisis.

FHI 360 is responding to the humanitarian crisis through integrated WASH, Health and Protection interventions. We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the positions of;

The Technical Officer. Health & Nutrition Services, will provide technical and programmatic support to implement high quality care and support activities with primary focus on clinical management of integrated medical services at the LG A level.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

MB.BS/MD/PHD or similar degree with 1 to 3 years relevant experience in clinical care with a sound understanding of humanitarian integrated health program delivery in resource constrained settings.

Possession of an MPH or post graduate degree in a related field is required.

Familiarity with Nigerian public health sector, NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.

Assistant Technical Officer, Pharmacy, will prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders, and dispensing medications by compounding, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

  • BS Pharmacy, or relevant field with 1- to 3 years post national youth service experience managing a PSM cycle, including rational health commodities selection, forecasting /quantification, quality assurance spanning the PSM cycle, warehousing/storage, distribution, and LMIS.
  • Must have a practicing license
  • Experience working with a humanitarian organization
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public health sector, NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable

Assistant Technical Officer, Primary Health Care will triage, examine, diagnose and treat patients in need of primary health care at the FHI 360-funded medical clinic. Based on the diagnosis, the ATO-PHC will prescribe appropriate treatment to patients and suggest follow up as required.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

  • MB.BS, MD or similar degree with minimum of 1 year relevant experience in emergency and constrained settings, INGO experience is most desirable.
  • Must have a valid practicing license
  • 1-3 years relevant experience in clinical setting.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public health sector, NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.

Assistant Technical Officer, Monitoring and Evaluation, will assist in monitoring and evaluating programactivities at the assigned field site. Primary responsibilities include collecting information on project activities in each sector for proper documentation and reporting of activities

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

  • BS/BA in statistics, Pharmacy, microbiology, monitoring and evaluation or in relevant degree with 1 – 3 years relevant experience in Monitoring and Evaluation or data management
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public health sector systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.
  • A sound understanding of humanitarian assistance programming is desirable.

The Assistant Technical Officer. Nursing, will provide nursing care, treatment and follow-up of patients, according to doctors’ prescriptions, protocols applied in service and universal hygiene standards/precautions to ensure the quality and continuity of care for the targeted population.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

  • Bsc. Nursing, Public health or other closely related field with 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Must be a Registered Nurse
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public health sector, NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working in a humanitarian organization is highly desirable Understanding of Kanuri is a plus.the three field sites.

Under the supervision of the WASH Coordinator, the Environmental Health Officer will monitor and train Community Volunteers on their hygiene promotion to IDPs.

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

  • BA/BS in field related to WASH with 1 to 3 years’ relevant experience with a sound understanding of hygiene in humanitarian relief settings.
  • Familiarity with Humanitarian NGOs.
  • The Assistant Technical Officer. Midwifery, will assist female patients in all stages of pregnancy, childbirth and post-delivery, He/she will also provide antenatal and postnatal advice and support to women and their families

Minimum Recruitment Standards:

  • Bsc. Nursing, Public health or other closely related field with 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Must be a Registered Nurse/Midwife
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public health sector. NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working in a humanitarian crisis is highly desirable.

The Assistant Technical Officer, Protection, will assist the Technical Officer, Protection in providing psychosocial support activities at field sites, health facilities and safe spaces. Under the supervision of the Field Coordinator and the Protection Coordinator, the ATO, Protection will support in managing all activities related to SGBV/PSS at their assigned field site.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BA/BS in SGBV/PSS or a similar degree with 1 to 3 years’ relevant experience in SGBV and PSS with a sound understanding of protection in humanitarian relief settings.
  • Possession of an MPH or post graduate degree in a related field is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian law enforcement systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.

The Assistant Technical Officer,  Case Management  will provide programmatic and operational support at field sites Under the supervision of the Field Coordinator and the Protection Coordinator, the Assistant Technical Officer. Case Management will engage clients including appropriate capture of the SGBV survivors’ stories, needs and concerns, and provide comprehensive communication on available services.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BA/BS in social works with 1 to 3 years’ relevant experience in SGBV and PSS with a sound understanding of protection in humanitarian relief settings.
  • Possession of an MPH or post graduate degree in social work is desired
  • Familiarity with Nigerian law enforcement systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.
