TITLE: FINANCE AND LOGISTICS OFFICER

LOCATION: KADUNA, NIGERIA

CONTRACT: 2 Year Fixed Term Contract

Sightsavers is enhancing the quality of the Inclusive Education Programme (IEP), of which will focus on the education of persons with disabilities, and this role will lead the progression of this work through formal Education and the Inclusion Works Programme (IWP) and on the economic empowerment of people with disabilities via formal employment

The post holder will manage financial control and risk and ensure the policies and procedures of the contact are followed, with emphasis on financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, audits, verifying claims, and being compliant with local regulations and governance requirements.

Tracking, monitoring and inventory analysis of the programme and supplies is vital, as is implementing and maintaining fleet logistics, movement and equipment protocols, including pre-travel authorisation and travel Insurance. Supporting, administrating and strengthening financial management and capacities of partners will help develop and provide grant manager support in accordance with the contract, as well as ensuring partners comply with the policies and procedures and retain financial and drug reports.

The successful candidate will possess a degree (or equivalent) in the relevant field, with a professional accounting qualification being an added advantage. They will ideally have extensive experience working within an INGO environment, prior financial management of donor funds and have a background working in a multidisciplinary team in a health sector setting.

Sightsavers are happy to offer an excellent opportunity to Join the organisation and enhance the quality of the IWP, with a focus on the economic empowerment of people with disabilities. The role will also ensure that the programme is planned, implemented, monitored and evaluated to the highest possible standards.

Working with Sightsavers partners the post holder will Identify organisations with whom we can work to achieve strategic objectives of ensuring people with disabilities have equal rights and opportunities, as well as building and supporting longer term partner relationships. Support to partners is given by disseminating information about Sightsavers work, promoting shared learning and collaboration, and identifying their technical and capacity building needs.

The post holder will participate in all PR activities related to social inclusion and work the UK inclusion Works programme team and other consortia members to coordinate activities and sharing of lessons learned. All aspects of the programme cycle will be managed by this role, as well as liaising and working with the Global

Technical Lead (Disability inclusive Economic Empowerment), assisting partners with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitoring expenditure of project financial resources and ensuring partners submit timely and accurate financial returns.

The successful candidate will possess a tertiary qualification in social sciences, education, development studies or public health (Bachelors or above, or similar), they will have experience with labour market issues, knowledge of current issues and best practices in disability and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Familiarity with relevant national legislation and policies and an extensive background implementing programmes with the disability sector is also required.

Familiarity with relevant national legislation and policies and an extensive background implementing programmes with the disability sector is also required.
