VACANCIES: INTERNAL AUDITOR II, RESEARCH OFFICERS (ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II), APTITUDE TESTS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II)

THE WEST AFRICAN EXAMINATIONS COUNCIL, a sub-regional organisation responsible for the conduct of a variety of examinations in the English-speaking West African countries, invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions at its International Office in Lagos.

POSITIONS: INTERNAL AUDITOR II

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants for the position must possess:

  • Credit passes in WASSCE/SSCE/GCE ‘0′ Level or equivalent in five (05) subjects including English Language and Mathematics at one sitting or in six (6) subjects including English Language and Mathematics at two sittings;
  • First degree with at least Second Class Lower Division from a recognized University;
  • Professional Accounting Qualifications (ICAN, ACCA, ACA).
  • Applicants for the position must have three (3) years post qualification experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidates will perform internal auditing of the activities of the Council.

Desirable Attributes

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Knowledge of accounting best practices;
  • Strong Information and Communications Technology skills and use of auditing softwares;
  • Ability to create and update internal audit plan;
  • Ability to develop new audit programs to ensure adequate internal control system;
  • Ability to learn organizational standards;
  • Ability to maintain and cultivate a master inventory of organizational policies, practices and processes.

POSITION: RESEARCH OFFICERS (ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants for the position must possess:

  • Credit passes in WASSCE/SSCE/GCE ‘0′ Level or equivalent in five (05) subjects including English Language and Mathematics at one sitting or in six (6) subjects including English Language and Mathematics at two sittings;
  • Ed/B.Sc. (Ed)/B.Sc with at least Second Class Lower Division from a recognized University in Mathematics, Statistics or Social Science subjects;
  • Ed. in Measurement and Evaluation or M.Ed. in Educational Administration.
  • Possession of Ph.D Education or Social Science Subjects will be an added advantage.
  • Applicants for the position must have at least three (3) years post-graduation teaching experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate’s will be involved in the conduct of research and participate in examination activities of the Council.

DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES

  • Ability to analyse research data and interpret results of data analysis;
  • Ability to initiate research studies, and write research proposals and reports;
  • High proficiency in Information and Communications Technology skills;
  • Self-motivated and ability to work extra hours with little or no supervision;
  • Ability to work in a team with good inter-personal skills and ability to lead change;
  • Possession of influencing, analytical, problem solving and communication skills.

POSITION: APTITUDE TESTS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Applicants for the position must possess:

  • Credit passes in WASSCE/SSCE/GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalent in five (05) subjects including English Language and Mathematics at one sitting or in six (6) subjects including English Language and Mathematics at two sittings;
  • Ed./B.Sc. (Ed)/B.Sc./B.A(Ed)/B.A with at least Second Class Lower Division from a recognized University in Mathematics, English Language or Psychology;
  • Ed. in Measurement and Evaluation or M.Ed. Educational Administration or M.Sc. Psychology.
  • Possession of Ph.D in Education Evaluation or Psychology will be an added advantage.
  • Applicants for the position must have at least three (3) years post-graduation teaching experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidates will be responsible for development of aptitude tests and will be involved in other examination activities of the Council.

NOTE: All applicants should not be more than forty (40) years of age as at the close of the advertisement. They also must have undergone the mandatory one year National Your Service. Applicants who have already applied for the vacancies earlier advertised by the Council on Monday, 3 June, 2019 should not apply.
