VACANCIES: DIRECTOR OF WORKS AND MAINTENANCE SERVICES, DIRECTOR OF PHYSICAL PLANNING

AUCHI POLYTECHNIC, a First Generation and well established Federal Polytechnic with the function of providing technology education, training and development of technological manpower has vacancies for the following positions:

POSITION: DIRECTOR OF WORKS AND MAINTENANCE SERVICES:

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Candidate must be holder of at least a good B.Sc (Hons) or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 18 years post-qualification cognate experience and registered as a member with the relevant Professional body.

DUTIES:

(a)      The Director, Works and Maintenance Services shall be responsible the Rector for the day to day running of the Department and exercise leadership control of the department

(b)     Formulating divisional strategies to achieve institutional goals in terms of infrastructures and maintaining existing ones.

(c)      Planning and controlling the technical activities of the Works and Maintenance services department in a organized whole (i.e. all units must work in harmony and together).

(d)     Advising the Rector on the acquisition, operations and maintenance of Polytechnic assets as the case may be.

(e)      Preparing the department budgets and exercise of budgetary control.

(f)      Keeping and inventory of all valuables, their maintenance, security and upkeep.

(g)     Performing other duties as may be assigned by the Rector.

POSITION: DIRECTOR OF PHYSICAL PLANNING:

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Candidate must be holder of at least B.Sc (Hons) degree or HND with a minimum of Lower Credit in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Urban and Regional Planning and Architecture with a minimum of 18 years post qualification cognate experience and registered as a member with the relevant professional body.

DUTIES:

(a)      The Director, Physical Planning department shall be responsible to the Rector for the day to day running of the department and exercise leadership control of the department.

(b)     Formulating and executing policies and programmes on relevant matters including master and policy plans relating to infrastructural development of the entire Polytechnic.

(c)      Responsible to the Rector for placing and controlling the technical activities of the physical planning of the Polytechnic and ensuring that developments are in line with approved policies and plans of the Polytechnic.

(d)     Advising on building needs, designs and construction of the physical (building) assets in terms of quality and quantity as well as spatial considerations.

(e)      Preparing the department budgets and exercise of budgetary control.

(f)      Supervise intervention projects in conjunction with other officers.

(g)     Performing other duties as may be assigned to him by the Rector.

(3)     TERMS OF APPOINTMENT AND OTHER CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

The terms of appointment and other conditions of service for both positions are stated below:

(i)      SALARY CONTED1SS 15

(ii)     Other fringe benefits attached to the office of the Director, Works and Maintenance Services and Director, Physical Planning departments are as obtainable in the conditions of Service for Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria.

(iii)    The tenure of office of the Director, Works and Maintenance Services and Director, Physical Planning department shall be for a period of four (4) years, effective from the date of appointment and may be renewed for another term of four (4) years except otherwise decided.
