The Budget, Performance Review & Strategic Planning Unit for Africa Region (BPSAF) in The World Bank Group is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to be recruited as Resource Management Assistant to be based in the World Bank Country Office in Abuja, Nigeria. BPSAF is responsible for budget and financial reporting, in country offices, BPSAF staff are, among other things, responsible for accounting, payment processing, cash management, internal controls and administration functions.
Under the guidance of BPSAF team members, the Resource Management (RM) Assistant is expected to handle accounting transactions, resource management, internal controls and general administration for the Nigeria office and its programs. The functions range from primary responsibility for accounting transactions, dealing with internal and external clients, performing compliance reviews and reporting to Central Control Units, to supporting and advising staff on RM subjects. S/he also plays a key role in the administration and dissemination of relevant policies of the World Bank Group.

Local Term Appointment: Three (3) Years, renewable.
Location: Abuja, Nigeria.

Preferred candidate should have a University degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or other relevant discipline, OR one of the following: (1) CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting; or (2) ACCA Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business; or (3) equivalent country-level Professional Accounting certificate.
Two years or more of relevant professional experience (accounting, business, financial audits, etc.) is required. English proficiency is required. Good working knowledge of complex accounting or financial systems, such as, SAP, or other reporting tools and Microsoft: Office applications is preferred. Professional experience in multinational organization or exposure to multi-cultural working environment, as well as experience and knowledge of Nigeria country context, is a plus.
