REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
FGN/NDDC/IFAD- Assisted LIVELIHOOD IMPROVEMENT FAMILY ENTERPRISE – NIGER DELTA (LIFE-ND) PROJECT CROSS RIVER STATE PROJECT COORDINATING OFFICE (SPCO)
APPLICATION TO BE AN INCUBATEE FOR THE LIFE-ND PROJECT

(1) INTRODUCTION
The Federal Government of Nigeria has received financing from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) towards the implementation of the Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprise in the Niger Delta (LIFE-ND) Project. This project is aimed at enhancing income, job creation and food security through Agribusiness enterprise development in a sustainable manner in the Niger Delta region. By its targeting strategy, the Project is focusing on unemployed and underemployed rural youths (aged 18-35) and women headed household with children below 15 years willing to engage in the production, processing and marketing of selected commodities in their communities using the incubator model.
Accordingly the Cross River State Project Coordinating Office of LIFE-ND invites youths and women headed households with children below 15 years to submit applications to the State office of LIFE-ND to participate as incubatees in the project.
(2) PRIORITY COMMODITIES FOR CROSS RIVER STATE
The priority commodities for Cross River State includes:
(i) Cassava – Tuber Production. Stem multiplication, processing (value addition), input supply, marketing
(ii) Rice – Production, seed multiplication, processing, input supply, marketing
(iii) Poultry-Production (layers, broilers. POL), processing and marketing
(iv) Fish Culture (Aquaculture) – Production, processing and fingerling production, artisanal fishery, feed production, marketing
(3) ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
(i) Being among LIFE-ND’s target group that includes men and women between the ages of 18 and 35; or women headed households with children below 15 years.
(ii) Being a citizen/resident/indigene within the first phase selected community/LGA of Cross River State

(iii) Being ready, willing and able to undertake apprenticeship in the particular enterprise,
(iv) Being willing to agree to sell a prescribed portion of their output to the incubator as part of developing and maintaining the mentorship relationship.
(v) Being considered unemployed or grossly underemployed and disadvantaged by minuted meeting of the local community as determined by a representative of any community-based society or group.
(vi) Being willing to sign a prescribed code of conduct that includes environmental compliance

(5) DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION
Application must be delivered to the address below within two (2) weeks from the date of this publication (20 January, 2021). Late applications will be rejected.
