The Edo State Colleges of Agriculture (Iguoriakhi) and Agricultural Technology (Agenebode) had by restructuring metamorphosed to one unique College of Agriculture and Natural Resources with expanded, widened and deepened scope of academic, training, research and integrated extension services. The new College has three schools, namely:

(1)     School of Agricultural Technology and Engineering at Iguoriakhi which doubles as the main campus and administrative headquarters of the College.

(2)     School of Aquaculture and Marine Technology being located at Agenebode.

(3)     School of Forestry and Environmental Technology being located at Uromi.

PRINCIPAL OFFICERS VACANCIES

POSITION: PROVOST

Job Description

The Provost is the chief Executive, Academic and accounting officer of the college and has power to exercise authority and control over both staff and students. Fie is also responsible for overall discipline in the college, subject to general control of the governing council.

The candidate for this position must be credible, exhibit high level management dexterity and leadership experience, in addition to having a demonstrable passion for academic endeavors.

Qualifications and Qualities

The candidate for the post is expected to possess the following qualifications and qualities:

  • Must hold a Ph.D degree from a recognized University in any of the courses offered in the College, in addition to a good honours degree with minimum of second class (Lower Division) or its equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Must be Chief Lecturer of at least seven (7) years on the rank in the Polytechnic/Monotechnic sector, with a minimum of eighteen (18) years teaching experience.
  • Must not be more than fifty five (55) years of age as at the date of assumption of duty.
  • Must have demonstrable evidence of academic buoyancy and administrative leadership, initiative and creativity in policy formulation and sound human evaluation.
  • Must provide evidence of membership of relevant and reputable professional National and International bodies.
  • Must provide evidence of scholarly publication in reputable journals as well as presentation of invited papers at educational conferences, seminars and workshops.
  • Must be able to attract research grant and development facilities to the college.
  • Must be able to collaborate with relevant agencies and bodies for the overall development of the college.
  • Must be able to harmonize all stakeholders’ views and contributions in the best interest of the college.
  • Must be a person with initiative and vision capable of accelerated pace of development of the college, even in the face of financial and challenging circumstances.
  • Must be a fair-minded, morally sound and dynamic individual with an impeccable reputation, free from financial embarrassment.
  • Must enjoy sound physical and mental health (attested to by Government Medical Officer).
  • Must be proficient in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

POSITION: REGISTRAR

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the College and is directly responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administration of the College.
  • By virtue of the office, he is the Secretary to the Council, College Academic
  • Board, Congregation, Convocation and their Committees.

QUALIFICATIONS AND QUALITIES

The candidate for the post of Registrar must possess a doctorate degree in Arts, Humanities, Management or related discipline with at least 12 years cognate experience or a master degree in relevant disciplines with a minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate experience or a bachelor degree in relevant discipline with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) from recognized Universities and at least eighteen (18) years cognate experience in the Tertiary Institution Administration.

  • Due consideration will also be given to candidates with international exposure and experience.
  • The candidate should not be below the rank of a Deputy Registrar (C0NTEDIS5 14) of a minimum of five (5) years standing or Higher Grade in a reputable Tertiary Institution will be an added advantage.
  • The candidate must also have the ability to cope with the dynamics of a Tertiary Institution Administration in the post-COVID 19 era.

POSITION: BURSAR

The Person

The Candidate for the post shall be visionary, a person of high integrity and moral character with excellent interpersonal relations. He/she must be able to instill confidence in others and command the loyalty and respect of people. He/she must fully understand the complexity of a Tertiary Institution system and must be able to effectively utilize its human resources to attain a world class financial system. He/she must enjoy good physical and mental health and must tie ICT compliant. In addition, he/she must be able to provide good professional leadership and on-the-job proficiency training to the Bursary staff.

Job Description

The Bursar shall be the Chief Financial Officer of the College and shall be responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day financial administration and control of the financial affairs of the College.

Qualifications and Qualities

Applicants must:

(a)      possess a good honours degree (at least Second Class Lower Division) preferably in Accounting, Economics, Financial Management or any other related field or related subjects from recognized tertiary institutions;

(b)     possess professionally recognized accountancy qualifications, e.g. ICAN,ACMA, ACA,ANAN,CPA,ACCA, CNA. Possession of a higher degree will be an added advantage;

(c)      the candidate should have at least fifteen (15) years post-honours degree and ten (10) years post professional qualification experience. In addition, the candidate must be holding the position of Deputy Bursar in a University or equivalent in a comparable institution, with at least five (5) years in the post;

(d)     be computer literate and must be conversant with accounting and auditing software,

(e)      be free from financial embarrassment and enjoy good physical and mental health, and

(f)      be below the age of 55 years at the point of assumption of duty.

POSITION: LIBRARIAN

Job Description

The college Librarian is a Principal Officer of the college and is responsible to the Provost for the day to day administration, co-ordination and control of the Library of the institution. He frames the overall Library policy, liaises with the various departments in the College and prepares library budgets. He is responsible for establishing policy of library exchange and performs others duty that may be assigned by the Provost.

Qualifications and Qualities

Applicants must possess a doctorate degree in library and information science with at least ten (10) years cognate experience in an institution of higher learning, or a master s degree in Library and information Science, with a minimum of fifteen (15) years cognate experience, or a Bachelor s degree in Library and information Science in addition to a minimum of eighteen (18) years cognate experience in an institution of Higher Learning.

  • Must have attended the rank of chief Librarian or Deputy Librarian for a period of at list five (5) years or two (2) years respectively
  • Must not be more than 55 years of age at the point of assumption of duty.
  • Must be morally sound and of impeccable character
  • Must enjoy excellent physical and mental health, evidenced by Government Medical Officer s report
  • Must show evidence of membership of relevant library professional bodies and registration with the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN)
  • Must be proficient in Digital and Automated Library Systems and contemporary application deployment as well as web Literacy and Digital Information Management Proficiency.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT/ CONDITION OF SERVICE

  • The appointment for each of the Principal Officers (l.e. Provost, Registrar, Bursar and Librarian) is for one single non-renewable term of five (5) years.
  • The salary for the provost is consolidated and the successful candidate (or appointee) shall enjoy other benefits of the office as may be approved from time to time by Edo State Government, while the salaries and other benefits of the Registrar, Bursar and Librarian are as approved from time to time by the Edo State Government.
